AAC (Advanced Audio Coding)
AAC is an audio coding format that uses lossy compression. As well as other lossy formats, AAC cuts off human-inaudible frequencies to reduce file size. It was developed by Apple as an alternative to other popular lossy formats and is used for streaming and storing music in iTunes. This codec is part of the MPEG-4 container. MMF
MMF (Music Mobile File)
MMF or Yamaha SMAF (Synthetic Music Mobile Application File) are audio files with .mmf extension. Files in the MMF format were often used for making ringtones for mobile phones with polyphony support. MMF audio files are usually created by converting from other popular formats with special software like Yamaha's SMAF Tools. Structurally, MMF is similar to MIDI melodies. An interesting feature of the format is the ability to display graphics and text as well.
